    For non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, diabetic non-diabetic acidosis in adults and the elderly after failure of diet to restore blood glucose balance and when vascular complications are present.


    – Severe acid-diabetic diabetes in children and adolescents.

    – Pre-coma and coma

    – Severe renal and hepatic impairment

    – Injury

    – Hypersensitivity to sulfonylurea.


    – Must reduce the dose in the elderly, malnourished and patients with severe hepatic and renal impairment.

    – In cases of decompensated diabetes and surgery, to stop using the drug and use insulin instead.

    – Must check glucose – blood and urine glucose after meals continuously in 24 hours.

    – Although the drug is not teratogenic, glicazid should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.


    Glicazid’s hypoglycemic effect can be increased rapidly when used in combination with alcohol, with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, salicylates, some antibiotics (chloramphenicol, tetracycline), beta blockers, cumarin, diazepam, inhibitors MAO preparations and drug forms of Miconazole.
